This semester, The Foghorn is happy to continue featuring pieces from Beth Hoffman’s Audio Production class! Each issue, we will be highlighting students who have completed and shared their exceptional work.

Luna Farina, a sophomore media major, has adapted a short story by Rachel Ebersole, who attends Bates College in Maine. Having have read the story before, Farina had finally found a way to creatively utilize Ebersole’s piece. Titled Fade, the story delves into a girl who was considered different from others.  Although embracing it in her younger years, growing up forced her to lose herself.

Conor Smith is a former Casa Bayanihan student and community coordinator, who is now a Resident Minister at the University of San Francisco.  Casa Bayanihan is an alternative study abroad program offered to undergraduate students and based in Manila, Philippines. YouTube has taken over our online media world in many ways. With a recording, people of all ages can transfer their thoughts, ideas and messages to the mas- sive virtual audience of YouTube.

Mele Perla, a senior majoring in English, started her voyage as a “Youtuber” as she ended high school. The drive and passion of a then seventeen-year-old Mele is still inherent in every YouTube video she pro- duces. Duc Dinh interviewed Mele to take a peek into Mele’s journey in front of the camera.
