Late Night Tales

One of the many unique aspects of San Francisco’s identity is its ever-thriving music scene, and last Thursday night, KUSF and CAB teamed up to celebrate that very fact. The duo brought three local bands to Crossroads for a free show that had a little something for everyone. Dirty Denim kicked off the night with some punk, complete with an apt lyrical reference to fellow Riot Grrrl Kathleen Hanna. Peacers, whose members founded legendary SF garage rock groups like Thee Oh Sees, Sic Alps, and Yikes, followed with high-energy psychedelia, making the Undercaf seem reminiscent of the City in its sonic heyday. Hot Flash Heat Wave closed the show, blending neo-doo wop and hook-heavy surf rock so seamlessly that the night couldn’t have ended on anything but a high note. Check out some photos from the stellar evening below, and keep an eye out for the next KUSF x CAB Late Nights event.
