How USF Students are Working to Aid SF Food Insecurity

According to a 2013 resolution passed by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, one in four San Franciscans suffer disproportionately from hunger and food insecurity. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) also states that food insecurity is a situation of “limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods or limited or uncertain ability to acquire acceptable foods in socially acceptable ways.” It affects mostly single parents, minority and low-income households, and households with children. I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for ICE CREAM BAR

It seems that ever since the weather has been heating up, ice cream has been one of my main food choices. If frozen treats are all you desire, take a stroll down to Ice Cream Bar in Cole Valley. At this classic ice cream shop you can treat yourself to a malt, milkshake, ice cream, soda fountain drinks, or simple lunch items like grilled cheese sandwiches. Off The Grid: Foghorn Editors Do Fort Mason

Off The Grid at Fort Mason is the city’s sign that Spring has begun. Beginning every March, the lot in front of the Fort Mason Center becomes a gastronomic wonderland, a swarm of food trucks, vendors, and foodies every Friday evening. Vegan Guide to San Francisco

San Francisco is a foodie destination where food trucks and novelty desserts reign supreme. The city is not just home to the well-known Bacon Truck and Crème Brulee cart, but also a city bursting with restaurants that are meat and dairy free, and provide customers with entirely vegan menus. Over the past two weeks I have challenged myself to eat solely vegan and was overjoyed to visit some delicious vegan spots around the city.
