The Dons mens and womens track teams attended two different meets this week, the Mt. SAC Invitational in Pomona from the 16th to the 17th and the Bryan Clay Invitational from the 17th to the 18th. The Dons ran and jumped fast and hard but were unable to get top finishers in any of the events, except for senior Robert Parker who placed fifth in the javelin at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a winning throw of 60.22m.

Right behind Parker in the javelin was senior Cameron Farrell who finished in 26th place with a throw of 48.62m. Also competing in the field portion of the Bryan Clay was Adrian Shocks who put up a score of 6.70m in the long jump. This jump was good enough for a 32nd place finish but it was the milestone for Shocks nevertheless as it replaces his old career record. Shocks also completed in the triple jump finishing with a best of 14.50m and almost breaking his personal best for that event in the process.

For the track portion of the invitational, sophomore Asaundra Dalton was the top finisher for the Dons with a time of 24.93 in the 200m dash earning her 18th place. The next highest finisher was sophomore Lupe Medina in the 400m event, she finished 37th overall with a run of 58.34. Medina also ran the 200m, running a time of 26.07 to earn herself 69th place.

At the Mt. SAC Invitational the top finisher for the Dons was Junior Elena Burkard who broke her own season best in the 1500m with a time of 4:22.47. Senior Sean Gomes also ran the 1500m and ran a 3:51.79, good enough for 36th place.

In the 5000m Jose Madera was the Dons top finisher at eighth place with a run of 14:11.86. On the womens side of the 5000m Jana Soethout ran a 17:02.36 to lift herself to 22nd place.

Next up for the Dons is the Brutus Hamilton Invitational at Cal in Berkeley from the 24th to the 25th.
