5.14 Chris Cohen, Sam Flax, Peacers @ Swedish American Hall
Chris Cohen is back and better than ever, and will soon be blessing the Bay with an evening of his dreamy blend of psych-pop in support of his latest record “As If Apart.” Opening the show are local heroes Peacers, certainly no strangers to hard-hitting psychedelia and face melting riffs, and fellow San Franciscans Sam Flax, who are sure to start things off right with some synth-rock reminiscent of the early 1980s.
5.17 Charles Bradley, Mothxr @ The Fillmore
Searching for some old school R&B in 2016? Look no further than Charles Bradley, who’s sure to turn back time as he fills San Francisco’s most historic venue with soulful melodies straight out of the 1960s. Even at 67years old, the man sure knows how to bring the house down. Mothxr opens the show, moving up the sonic timeline by thirty years, providing some groove-inducing synth pop right out of Brooklyn.
5.20 Dinosaurs, Babewatch, Watergate Sandals, Jerks @ The Hemlock Tavern
Swing by Hemlock next Friday night to celebrate the end of finals as USF students and alumni Dinosaurs do what they do best and bring out their punk-tinged take on garage rock. Babewatch takes the stage with a lighthearted version of surf rock, the beach vibe keeps going with Watergate Sandals, and all this garage and surf finds a happy medium in the lo-fi tunes of openers Jerks.
