Last Friday night marked another successful “Rocky Horror Picture Show” performance from the ASUSF College Players, who are celebrating their 151st year. Students and alumni alike filled the Presentation Theater, with most of whom sporting fishnet thigh-highs and corseted lingerie in the spirit of the show.
Prior to Cecilia Shaw taking the stage as The Lips in the opening sequence of “Rocky Horror,” the lovely ladies behind College Players commenced the traditional “Virgin Games” for all those who had never witnessed a live performance of the cult film. College students with bright red Vs drawn on their foreheads swarmed the stage and partook in challenges such as “Best Group Sex Position.” Needless to say, The Human Centipede interpretation won the unanimous approval of the audience. As for the overall virgin winner, Maya Alvarez and sophomore nursing major Elisa Gozzini tied with their equally overtly sensual rendition of the female orgasm.
Once the show began, the College Players enticed the audience to the credit roll. Cody Stabelfeldt, a sophomore English major, perfectly embodied the seductive qualities of Tim Curry in his second year as Dr. Frank N’ Furter, while Drew Antes, a senior biology major, gracefully ran around the stage as his counterpart, Rocky, in what seemed to be the tightest gold underwear known to man. Overall the show was red-hot and I pity the fools who missed it. Then again, it’s not easy having a good time. Can I get an attitude check?!
