In this week’s Associated Students of University of San Francisco (ASUSF) Senate meeting, the Senators listened to a presentation, approved a resolution and inducted a new Senator.
- Ellen Ryder, Vice President of the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) along with her colleagues presented an in-depth view of the day-to-day functions of OMC. OMC is in charge of all of the university’s social media accounts, web and digital content, the USF Magazine and USF News. The representatives from OMC encouraged the senators to spread the word on using #USFCA on social media posts and to share all exciting stories of undergrad students with them.
- The ASUSF Senate approved LGBTQ Student Representative Grace Berg’s resolution of a title change. The position will now be known as the Gender and Sexual Minoritized Student Representative.
- Francesca Bitton, Vice President of Internal Affairs, and Natalie Murphy, Ceremony Chair of the Internal Affairs Committee, inducted the new Student of Color Representative, Tabitha Reyes.
- October’s Senator of the Month was School of Nursing Representative, Sophia Thompson for her efforts in creating new means of transportation for students. Thompson will soon create a possible joint resolution with the Graduate ASUSF Senate for students who take the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).
The ASUSF Senate meetings are held every Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. on the UC 4th Floor Lounge. Students are encouraged to attend so they can remain updated and aware of the decisions and presentations being discussed in every meeting.
