After a final round of 300 the Dons were able to finish in fourth place overall at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. The Dons had a lot of help from sophomore Vanessa Ha and Emelie Lundstrom who finished in second and third place respectively.
Overall the Dons shot 904 at 40 over par. In the first round USF shot 306 as a team. Vanessa Ha had the best round for a Don breaking even with a score of 72 for par. Next up was freshman Mabel Wong at four over par and just behind her Lundstrom at five over par. Junior Ayaka Suzuki and senior Claire Sorensen rounded out the pack at nine and ten over par respectively.
In the second round the Dons did much better overall coming in at 298, just six over par. This time it was Lundstrom with the lowest score, shooting one under par. Ha was not far behind at one over par with a score of 73. Suzuki, Wong, and Sorensen finished this round with scores of four, six, and 10 over par.
The final round would not be the Don’s best but they would almost hit their previous mark of 298 with a score of 300. Lundstrom and Ha finished with the same scores they had in the second round, one under and one over par. Sorensen finished third on the team at three over par in the third round. Suzuki and Wong were nine and 11 over par each.
The Dons have since competed at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Denver Colorado, scores were not available at time of printing. The Dons will return to action in February.
