I’m sorry but the subculture started with the music and the fashion flowed from that. If you are calling yourself goth without the music then you are nothing but a nu-goth fashion victim. Also, goth didn’t start from ‘rich kids’ rebelling. This has got to be one of the most uninformed articles about ‘goth’ that I’ve read in a while.
