PODCAST: History and sounds of beat boxing

Ariana Kudlo
Staff Writer

Communications major and USF senior Jon Antonio was a student in Beth Hoffman’s Audio Production class last semester, during which he was able to use his passion for music and combine it with his narrative talent.

From the start of the semester, Antonio knew he wanted to incorporate his talent for beatboxing into his work, and the opportunity finally presented itself in his final project.  Beatboxing alone wouldn’t have simply been enough to fill the requirement, so he combined a brief history and easy-to-follow tutorial on the elements of hip-hop.  With clips from Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh, Jon Antonio brings you vocalized percussion patterns you won’t forget.
